Emancipation Day Social

Join us on Sunday, August 2nd to celebrate and recognize Emancipation Day.
Our Third Annual Emancipation Day Social will take place at Evergreen House (26 Newcastle Street, Dartmouth) on Sunday, August 2nd from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
This free event will include an address from Senator Wanda Bernard, a guest panel, a temporary pop-up exhibit about Dr. Clemont Ligoure – the first Black Physician in Halifax – from the Association of Nova Scotia Museums alongside several artefacts from the Dartmouth Heritage Museum collection. We’ll also have children’s activities, and berry-themed treats and drinks from local businesses.
A list of guest speakers and an event itinerary will be shared closer to the event.
