Evergreen House has a variety of spaces, including the backyard, available year-round for private and corporate functions. Both rooms overlook Halifax Harbour and provide splendid views of the Dartmouth shoreline.

Summer/Fall 2025

Evergreen House is undergoing several much-needed repairs which are currently impacting our rental and exhibition spaces. The Green Parlour and Sun Porch are unavailable for rental until Fall/Winter 2025 (projected). Follow our social media, or check back later, for updates regarding rental availability.

The Red Parlour

The Red Parlour is are most frequently booked space. Chairs and/or tables make this space the perfect venue for events with up to 35 attendees.

Helen's Gardens

Helen’s Gardens are open to the public, but can also be booked for events. With a gorgeous harbour view and plenty of green space, Helen’s Gardens offer a picturesque venue for any occasion.

The Reference Library

Lower Level

The Reference Library, or Meeting Room, is located on the lower level. The room is suited for your meeting needs. It is conveniently located next to our full kitchen. There is a private side entrance.

Main Level

*The Sun Porch is currently not available for rental due to construction.

The Sun Porch is located directly off of the Green Parlour. These rooms are usually booked together, but can be booked separately. The Sun Porch is enclosed on all sides by windows, two sides looking out onto the harbour.

The Green Parlour

The Green Parlour is located on the main level. The room is gorgeously lit, with windows overlooking Halifax Harbour and the beautiful backyard. It is an ideal space for small, intimate gatherings by the harbour.

Rental rates are impacted by rentals outside of museum operational hours. For instances of rentals where museum staff and/or volunteer involvement is deemed considerable, a Special Event Fee of $150.00 will be added to the rental. Full payment is due on the date of the rental. A deposit may be required in advance to secure a booking.

Available amenities include tables, chairs, linens, teaware, cutlery, and appliances. Please note use of these amenities may require additional fees (see rental rates in section above).

Quaker House is open seasonally, from June through August, but may be available for rentals on a case-by-case basis. Please also note that Quaker does not have all the same amenities as Evergreen.
